Fg declares Thursday public holiday

FG declares Thursday 7th July 2016 as Public Holiday

 

The Federal Government of Nigeria today  announced Thursday as the extention of the Tuesday and Wednesday public holiday slated before  of the Id el Fitri public holidays by adding Thursday .

It declared Thursday 7th July, 2016, as part of the public holidays initially for fixed for Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th July, 2016.

Announcement was made by his humble Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Bassey Okon Akpanyung. Which many  people didn’t find so funny only the Nigerian bankers will smile at it , if you are a banker you know what am talking about

He explained that the decision to include Thursday followed the directive by the President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, that the Ramadan fast continues on Tuesday because of the fact that the moon was not sighted on Monday.

It declared Thursday 7th July, 2016, as part of the public holidays initially for fixed for Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th July, 2016.
